Freeze Drying is a near perfect way to preserve you flowers, whether they are just a simple bouquet, wedding flowers, funeral flowers, or special occasion flowers. To explain the process, we use the freeze dryer at the right. Your flowers are placed in the upper chamber of the freeze dryer and the temperature is lowered to -20F. The lower chamber temperature is reduced to -45F and a vacuum is introduced which creates a zero atmosphere. This causes the moisture in the flowers to leave the flowers and to drop to the coldest temperature. The upper chamber temperature is increased over the next 14 days until it reaches 70F. During these days of changing temperature the moisture continues to drop to the lower chamber. This results in Freeze Dried flowers with all moisture being removed. The amazing thing is the color and texture remains, and the flowers are still ply able. |
